INTRODUCTION:
Welcome to the Heavenly Foundation's Snowboard Team. This handbook will provide useful information for both the athlete and parent.
Our snowboard team will have both part-time and full-time programs. The part-time program will operate on weekends and holidays only. The full-time program will operate weekends, holidays, after school and two nights per week*, (*starting in January).
All athletes will be divided into groups according to their skill levels. These groups will be determined by their coach. The younger athletes will focus on fun, safety and skill development. These athletes will be learning the basics of the sport with less "hard-core" training and travel. They will be doing more free riding and will participate in all aspects of the sport including; all types of terrain, half-pipe, parks, gate racing and basic skill development. As they progress, all athletes will be encouraged to compete in local competitions.
Each athlete will be assigned to a coach. Athletes will report to their coach when they arrive for training. Coaches expect all athletes to be ON TIME. Although athletes will usually be with their assigned coach, they will have exposure to all coaches on our staff. Athletes will need to check the chalk board every day for training locations and times. (which are subject to change) Should an athlete arrive late to practice, it will be their responsibility to check the board for the training location.
